This mini tutorial is focused on HP printer maintenance and applies to the following models:
• HP Deskjet F310, F325, F335 and F340, F350, F370, F378, F380, F385, F388, F390 and F394
To begin, clean the glass and lid backing to remove surface dust and ensure that copies and scans remain clear.
Step 1: Clean the outside, use a soft cloth or slightly moistened sponge to wipe dust, smudges on the outside. The interior of the unit does not require cleaning. Keep liquids away from the control panel inside the unit.
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the exterior of the unit, do not use alcohol or cleaning products based on alcohol.
Step 2: Clean the glass
1. Press the ( ) button to turn off the unit.
2.Disconnect the cord from the back of the unit.
3.Lift the lid.
4.Clean the glass with a soft cloth or sponge slightly moistened with a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
CAUTION:
Do not use abrasives, acetone, benzene or carbon tetrachloride on the glass, as they may damage it. Do not put liquid directly onto the glass. The liquid can seep under the glass and damage the device.
5.Dry the glass with a chamois or cellulose sponge to prevent stains.
6.Connect the power cord to the back of the unit.
7.Press ( ) button to turn on the unit.
Step 3: Clean the backing lid
1.Press ( ) button to turn off the unit.
2.Disconnect the cord from the back of the unit.
3.Lift the lid.
4.Clean backing paper documents with a soft cloth or sponge slightly moistened with mild soap and warm water.
NOTE: Wash the backing gently to loosen debris, do not scrub the backing.
5.Dry backing with a chamois or soft cloth.
CAUTION: Do not use towel papers because they can scratch the back.
6.If cleaning is needed, repeat the previous steps using isopropyl (rubbing) and wipe the backing thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any residue.
CAUTION: Be careful not to spill alcohol on the glass or exterior of the unit, as this may damage the device.
7.Connect the power cord to the back of the unit.
8.Press ( ) button to turn on the unit.
