When we buy a computer we found 2 types:
1.Laptop or Notebook
2.Desktop
The advantage of a laptop is the ability to transport it to wherever you want, use it without being plugged in for a long time (1, 2 or more hours depending on battery life), and you can take it to different countries regardless of the type of voltage (110v. or 220v.).
The advantage of a desktop is that you can get a higher performance at lower cost than a laptop. They also have a longer life, because you can upgrade engines as time passes.
In either of the 2 cases we need to know what we need them for in order to decide which computer to buy. If we are going to use it to:
1.Internet, chatting, writing documents, spreadsheets and programs that require few resources. The remedies recommended are:
Memory: 512 MB for Windows XP or 1GB. for Windows Vista.
Hard Drive: 80 GB
Processor: Pentium or AMD Core Duo.
Web Cam, microphone and headphones. Recommended brands are Logitech and Creative Lab
1.Video, music, games, graphic design and other programs that require large amounts of resources. The remedies recommended are:
Memory: 1 GB for Windows XP or 2Gb. for Windows Vista.
Hard Drive: 200 GB
Processor: Pentium or AMD Core Duo Althon.
Video graphics card (ATI or NVIDIA) with 512 MB of memory for those who want to run games.
1.Autocad, 3ds Max and other programs that use large amounts of mathematical calculations:
Memory: 1 GB for Windows XP or 3Gb. for Windows Vista.
Hard Drive: 200 GB
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Quad 2 Core.
Video graphics card (ATI or NVIDIA) with 512 megs of memory.
Currently all computers come with DVD burners (DVD RW), which is always necessary to save the work done.
The keyboard and mouse, it is recommended to buy an ergonomic one.
For printers and monitors, it is advisable to have the logo "Energy Star", which consume less energy.
